The belt conveyor is the most widely used conveying equipment, carrying materials on a belt for continuous horizontal or inclined conveying of bulk material, boxes and small parts. To set it up right, look at material, incline and tension.
First, belt material. Belts come in PVC, PU and rubber. PVC belts are cost-effective for general conditions; PU belts resist oil and wear and are easy to clean, suiting food and electronics shops with cleanliness needs; rubber belts are strong and wear-resistant, suiting heavy loads and sharp materials. The wrong material means poor durability or contaminated goods.
Second, incline. When a belt line climbs, the slope must stay within a limit, or materials slide back. For steeper slopes, choose belts with patterns or cleats for more friction, or switch to segmented lifting. The angle and belt type must work together for stable conveying.
Third, tension. Belts loosen, slip and drift over time, so a tensioner keeps proper belt tension. Tension must be adjustable, and daily checks keep the belt tight and centered. The quality of belt joints and rollers also directly affects belt life and smooth running.
A belt conveyor is customized to material form, weight, incline and environment. Huizhou Zhenxi Automation has built conveyor lines for years, handling everything from belt selection to full-line design, installation and commissioning.
